Bulgaria withdraws from Eurovision 2023

Another one bites the dust. The morning after Montenegro publicly announced it was withdrawing from Eurovision, Bulgaria has done the same.

In a direct message sent to OGAE Greece, the broadcaster’s official Twitter account said:

“Bulgaria will not be taking part at Eurovision 2023 and most probably in the future editions as well. After analysis it was decided that this program does not present an interest for the broadcaster any longer.”

  1. Yo this is devastating. Bulgaria have consistently been bringing really interesting and fun songs and performers to Eurovision, I can’t help but feel this is a knee-jerk response to underperforming in points in the past couple of years after doing so well with Kristian ☹️ I only hope they reconsider in the future. They will be sorely missed.

  2. Scam of people this year with voting and Ukraine's victory destroyed my view of this Contest. I used to love it so much. It was more than ovy what they did. Romania didn't cvte for Ukraine but for Moldova, and they have cut off presenter and announced their own points. That was just one of examples of Big scam they pulled of so they can make it into political contest and make general public agree with political agenda of Brussels.

  3. Noooooo! Growing up was getting old and Tears getting Sober was absolutely fire, and even with how boring the song is Intellegent Music Project makes it an absolute concert with their performance. From just those 3 years alone they have got so much into Eurovision, and that's not to mention my favorite entries of both 2017 and 2018 is from Bulgaria with Beautiful Mess and Bones, and still a very good entry that kinda jokingly became a meme in crimes in wiwibloggs here with If love was a crime…this is such a shame, I wish there would be more to be done for them to continue.

  4. Sorry guys, we have been struggling internally and still cannot form a proper government during the last 18 months. The society is divided and the mood is not great. Wishing the other countries all the best and still be watching Liverpool 2023.

  5. Wtf happened there? Look at them in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021!!! They were at the top! IMP was the worst thing they could send, maybe thats why the decision was made.. anyway we’ll miss them.
