First Impressions of Sofia, Bulgaria | Free Walking Food Tour

In this video we are sharing with you our first impressions of Sofia, Bulgaria.

When we first arrive to a new city, we always check to see if they offer free walking tours. We love getting an introduction to the area from a local’s perspective. We were especially excited to find out that Sofia offers a free city walking tour with FOOD called Balkan Bites. (Balkan Bites is closed during the pandemic but you can check their Facebook for updates). We had the best time strolling the city, munching on the gourmet bites, and learning a bit about Sofia’s rich history. After our food tour, we continued on to see as much of the city as we could fit in our short time here!

We hope this video gives you a little peek into what the beautiful city of Sofia has to offer, thanks for watching!

  1. Very nice clip 👌I liked. Bulgaria 🇧🇬is the most beautiful country 😍for me , and every time I go back home 🏡❤and here I feel myself and happy and here i can do whatever I want 😀😊in a good way. Thank you for your kind words about Bulgaria and we will wait for you again ❤
Have a nice trip whatever you go this year and be safe 💗

  2. Just a minor correction – the Saint Sofia church you went to wasn't built on top of a Roman theatre. It was actually built on top of Serdika's necropolis and a few smaller churches (about 4). It's also believed to be the second oldest church in Sofia, the oldest one being St. George. The amphitheatre is actually a few blocks to the west on top of which now stands a disgusting modern hotel. The excavations, though are still visible in its basement.

  3. Hey! Great video, what bus did you use from Skopje, Macedonia 🇲🇰 to Sofia, Bulgaria 🇧🇬? Thanks 😊

  4. The church that kicked you out – it's usually allowing photos only on weddings, but it's forbidden in general in the country to take photos or videos in any type of church, sign or no sign. 🙂

  5. It seems unreal to see everyone without masks and worries of any kind, can you guys please make a video explaining how you found the places you visited in terms or make and restrictions. Good luck with your trips.

  6. This seems to be a very charming city, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!

  7. I am sorry for bugging you guys so much with questions. But where can I find the walking/food tour you guys did? 🥰

  8. We too were royally scolded for taking photos in a cathedral in Exeter, England! We didn’t see any warnings about it but the nun made us feel like we were such horrible sinners. Omg, we felt so bad! Lol.

  9. I'm an avid traveler and curious as to what kind of travel restrictions you guys have encountered on the trip you're currently on. I guess I haven't seen anything relating to that in your recent videos. Are you having to provide negative covid tests before entering the countries you guys have been visiting recently?
